What to expect

What to expect

Your home buying experience should be as warm and comfortable as the feeling of coming home. Get a sense of what buying your home with Daytona will be like – our people-first approach makes it comfortable, smooth and exciting!

1. Choose Your Home

Come for a showhome visit (online or in-person appointments available). You will talk with our knowledgeable Daytona sales team and decide which home is right for you! Whether it's one of our current move-in-ready homes, or a new build on a lot chosen by you, we'll be with you every step of the way.

Within 10 days of choosing your home, our sales team will help you complete your purchase agreement. Your Daytona sales team are experts in this field and you can lean on them with any questions or concerns you may have.

Once conditions are removed and you've made a deposit, you'll be on your way to owning your new home!

Next up is a pre-construction review where a member of the construction team will review final plans and the target delivery date. You'll sign-off on the home drawings and confirm any and all changes you've requested are incorporated in these final plans, including your exterior colours.

3. Make It Yours

Now it's time for your decor selection appointment. This is where you get to make your home's interior finishings reflect your personal style. Appointments will be online or in-person depending on location and preference. Our expert team will help you make your home yours. Your ability to personalize your home will vary, but our team will be there to help you with any questions.

If construction hasn't already started, it will be underway now. Your pre-drywall tour occurs at a rough mechanical stage with your Daytona representative and/or a member of the construction team. This is a quick check-in for you to see progress on the approved plan. At 35 days before possession day, you'll be asked to confirm a date for your homeowner orientation.

You're home is built! Now it's time for your homeowner orientation, one week prior to the closing day, with a member of the construction team. You'll get to demo your new home features and learn about any maintenance or warranty information, as well as discuss the set-up of your utilities. You'll also review your purchase documents and sign your mortgage with your lawyer.

3. Welcome Home!

The day before (or the morning of) closing day is the confirmation tour, where you'll receive the keys to your new home! We'll also take this opportunity to sign final documents and confirm any outstanding items from the homeowner orientation.

The Daytona sales team and other office staff will reach out to ensure everything is going smoothly. 30-60 days after possession you'll have your primary warranty visit, and 10-11 months after possession you'll have your anniversary warranty visit to ensure everything is working well and you're happy in your Daytona home. Regardless of any timelines, the Daytona team is here for you when it comes to any concerns and questions. Please reach out anytime!
