MENTAL HEALTH IN TODAY'S WORLD

With the ongoing effects of the pandemic, inflation, rising interest rates and cost of living, and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and new years, the stress factors for many are at an all time high.

Here at Daytona Homes, we recognize that while mental health awareness and initiatives have improved over the recent years, it still has a long way to go, and in today's world, it is more important than ever. We believe it is our responsibility to give back to our communities and better the world through social change, and working with Distress Centre Calgary is just one of many of our initiatives.

DISTRESS CENTRE CALGARY

Distress Centre Calgary is a support centre that provides 24 hour crisis support, professional counselling, specialized programs, and a wide array of resources all in the name of bettering mental health for all. Since opening their doors back in 1970, the Distress Centre has been offering 24 hour crisis support to Calgary and southern Alberta. To this day, they continue to offer 24 hour, non-judgmental, free, compassionate, and accessible support for those who need it.

If you are going through a crisis and require help, please don't hesitate to reach out to their 24 hour Crisis Line by text or phone at 403-266-4357 (HELP).

LEND AN EAR 2022

On September 22, 2022, Distress Centre Calgary hosted their Lend An Ear event, which we were extremely proud to have sponsored and been a part of.

A conference was held online with special guests Ron MacLean, Catriona Le May Doan, Dr. Karen MacNeill, and Stephanie Labbe as they discussed the growing importance of mental health especially in the face of today's ever-changing world.

Events like this are just one of the several initiatives that Distress Centre Calgary holds, and they continue to do so as we move forward into the future.

MENTAL HEALTH AND THE FUTURE

We're all going through something in one way or another as we make our ways through life. It can feel extremely difficult or even borderline impossible at times, but it's important to remember that no one has to go through it alone. There are always others that are willing and able to help support you through it, and things will be okay. Daytona Homes aims to hold steadfast in our efforts to spreading mental health awareness and continue supporting efforts in years to come.
