Project Forest Partnership
Tacada is a Gold Level Partner of Project Forest
Proudly supporting 9 hectares of the Cumberland House Cree Nation Food and Medicine Forest in Saskatchewan
We're committed to helping replenish the resources used to build our homes
LED Lighting
LED lighting is used in all of our homes. They save homeowners approx. $448 annually on utility bills.
Lighting accounts for nearly 5% of global CO2 emissions, however, LED lighting is 50-70% more efficient than old technologies, allowing us to reduce the carbon footprint of our homes.
Carpet
The carpet we use in our homes is made from recycled plastic bottles. Each year, our Tacada builders save 2.2 million plastic bottles from entering landfills. If you stacked these bottles on top of one another, it would span 462km – that's 6,600 hockey rinks!
Low-Flow Fixtures
Since 2020, our Tacada builders have saved 68 million litres of water by using low-flow toilets in our homes–the equivalent of 27 Olympic-sized swimming pools!
Community is built on connections
Every year, our team devotes volunteer hours to give back to the communities we build in.
Over $1 million has been raised for The Edmonton Down Syndrome Society, over the last 25 years.
We believe diversity makes us stronger and it's important to us that our team represents our customers.
Our staff speak over 10 languages
Over 20% of our staff are from minority groups
An almost exact 50/50 split of men and women on our team as well as members from other gender identity groups
We actively strive to provide equal opportunities for everyone
We lead the industry with our safety standards. Not because we have to, but because it's the right thing to do for our people, communities and the environment.
Western Canada's Builder
We operate in the greater Edmonton area, Calgary, Regina, Grande Prairie, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg. Over the years we’ve grown adding Daytona Communities and Daytona Properties to our offering.
Daytona Communities was founded in 1998 with a commitment to develop expertly planned communities and developments. Since our founding, we have developed over 1350 acres of land into 4100 lots. We continually strive to make the development process more efficient and find more practical methods of building to provide the highest quality for our residents.
Daytona Properties launched in 2015 to offer our customers not only a homeownership program but also a rental property program. Since its launch, Properties has acquired and renovated, in partnership, over 120 residential units and has another 100 units and 3.8 acres of land in development.
Daytona is proud to be a part of the Tacada Family of companies. Tacada supports people, communities and organizations in the pursuit of realizing their greatest potential. We believe that creating a sense of belonging, community, safety, stability and beautiful places to call home is what matters most.
We acknowledge that the land on which the Daytona Homes Edmonton office resides is on Treaty Six Territory–a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and travelling route for many indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Metis and Inuit who call this territory home.
